PDF-to-Word is a free service from the Nitro PDF Software team, makers of Nitro PDF Professional which they claim to be the first true alternative to Adobe® Acrobat® and their PDF-to-Word the most accurate PDF-to-Word convertor.

Recently I had to download and fill out some PDF gov’t forms but unfortunately they weren’t Adobe “fillable” forms. Not wanting to print them out and then fill out the forms by hand, I checked online to see if I could find a PDF convertor that would turn it into a Microsoft Word or similar format so I could easily complete the form on my computer.

Much to my delight after doing a quick search and some research, I found the online PDF to Word Convertor by Nitro Software. Not wanting to download and install software unless I had to I thought I’d give this convertor a shot first. And I’m glad I did! After a quick upload of 3 files 5 – 8 pages each I had the converted files in my email inbox… only took a couple of minutes and the Word file looked exactly like the original PDF file.

I opened my documents in Word, made my edits, inserted the necessary info, saved it and then converted it back to PDF with my Acrobat program and WALLA… my forms were all neatly filled out and ready to send back. No downloading and installing software… just a quick conversion and I was done.

What a time saver and it’s so nice to find a program that works flawlessly. You will have to provide an email address though so they can send you the converted files and I have yet to receive any spam or promo emails from them so no need to worry about that.

It appears that Nitro has a number of PDF convertors, all free along with some other Pro or Commercial software. If their free services are any indication of the quality of their software I wouldn’t hesitate to buy but for now the Free services work just fine for me.
